To accommodate smaller projects and business that are often unable to access the NMTC program, FIRE used its own capital along with funding from Tri-City Bank to finance a $7 million loan pool. The loan pool was used to provide below market financing to six projects noted below:
Huertas
The NMTC allocation was used to purchase and construct a Mexican restaurant in Kenosha, WI. The project is located at 4311 52ndSt.
North Avenue Redevelopment
The NMTC loan was used to finance the acquisition and rehabilitation of two contiguous properties located on North Avenue in Milwaukee. The project is located at 2012 E North Ave.
PodVacic
The project involved the purchase and renovation of a vacant building at 6525 W. Burnham Street, West Allis. The building is used to operate several businesses. The project is located 6525 W Burnham St. – West Allis
Coakley Brothers
The NMTC loan was used to finance Coakley Brothers’ renovation of their existing 175,000 square foot warehouse into an office space in Milwaukee. The project is located at 400 S 5th St.
Historic Barden
The project consisted of the acquisition, rehabilitation, and lease out of a property in Kenosha. The project is located at 628 58th St.

The funds are expected to help create 172 positions and retain 166 positions.
