Project Roundy's Commissary - Kenosha

5500 52nd St. Kenosha, WI 53144
Roundy's Commissary - Kenosha

The Project:

The project involved the reconfiguration of 117,000 square feet of an existing prepared foods production facility owned by Kroger Foods located in Kenosha. The project aimed to ensure a streamlined and competitive production supply chain operations for Kroger in light of its acquisition of Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Inc., and ensured continued employment for the existing employees. Without leveraging support NMTCs, the financial costs to convert the facility production would not be cost effective for Kroger to undertake.

Jobs:

In absence of the funding, the facility would lose 25-30 FTE positions associated with the facility, and ultimately risks the future operations of the facility to continue operating at large. The project created 5 permanent jobs and maintained 215 permanent jobs—all of which are quality jobs. 207 of the permanent jobs are available to low-income persons based on educational attainment requirements.

FIRE welcomes requests for NMTC’s throughout the year as we work to maintain an active pipeline of viable and potential projects throughout the region.
